Tori Schmanski flew to China today with her parents to receive advanced treatment that she cannot receive in the United States. Her story is heart breaking. In June 2005 she was in a terrible car accident with her sister and cousin. Their car rolled. Tori's cousin and sister were able to escape, but Tori was trapped in the car. She was trapped under water for about 20 minutes before she was rescued.
Tori has suffered from a brain injury ever since the accident. She stayed in the hospital for nine months and has been in and out ever since. Before the accident, Tori was a dancer at dance studio called "The Dance Club" in Orem, Utah. She was very bright and everyone around her loved her. This accident changed her and her family's lives. Now Tori is dependant on her parents for all of her care. She communicates with her eyes, but is not able to speak.
Tori's trip to China gives her family hope. Tori's mother would like to see a smile, and Tori's father hopes to see some of the old Tori back from the treatment.
For Every Body created a candle line especially for Tori. Each candle has a picture of Tori on the front. All of the proceeds are donated to the family to help pay for her medical bills and treatment in China. Candles can be purchased at www.pray4tori.com or at any of For Every Body's outlet locations in Utah.
